Hyderabad: Telangana State Cabinet has given its nod for increase in pay scales of employees of Health Department.
The State Cabinet, chaired by Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao, met at Pragathi Bhavan on Sunday and took several major decisions.
Since the cabinet meeting was held a few hours before the massive public meeting of TRS ‘Pragathi Nivedana Sabha’ at Kongara Kalan, speculations were rife that it might decide to dissolve Telangana Assembly to facilitate early polls. However, the cabinet did not even discuss the proposal.
Briefing the media persons after the meeting, Finance Minister Eatala Rajender informed that the cabinet has given its nod for construction of Bhavans for various BC communities.
It has been decided to allot 71 acres of land and Rs. 70 crores for the construction of different Bhavans. Further, it has been decided to allot 5 acres of land for construction of Reddy Hostel.
The cabinet has also given its nod for increase the monthly honorarium of Gopal Mitras from present Rs. 3,500 to Rs. 8,500. Similarly, Asha Workers have been given a pay hike from Rs. 6,000 to Rs. 7,500.
The staff working as IInd ANM in Health Department will get a hike from present Rs. 11,000 to Rs. 21,000. The employees working with National Urban Health Mission will also get a minimum pay of Rs. 9,000.
The salaries of contract doctors have been increased from Rs. 35,000 to Rs. 40,000.
Irrigation Minister T. Harish Rao informed that the cabinet has also approved the compensation for those affected due to breach in Mid-Maniar Dam.
Each family of Manwada will get a compensation of Rs. 4.25 lakh and an amount of Rs. 25.84 crore has been allotted for the purpose.
Ministers K. Tarakarama Rao and Mahender Reddy did not participate in the cabinet meeting as they were busy with the arrangements of TRS public meeting.
