Hyderabad: Governor Dr.Tamilisai Soundararajan on Saturday described how India, especially Hyderabad, was emerging as the world’s pharmaceutical capital and many countries were looking at India for the COVID-19 vaccine supply that is expected to begin soon.
She found out that more than 150 nations have been providing drugs to Hyderabad.
The Governor visited the NIMS Hospital here, along with her husband and nephrologist, Dr P Soundararajan, and formally launched the COVID vaccination program for state frontline warriors.
After the vaccine, she presented them with flowers and gratitude letters and thanked them for their efforts to stop the pandemic. She said the beginning of the COVID-19 vaccine was the country’s proudest moment and the frontline warriors’ COVID immunization program was a show of appreciation for their selfless services.
Speaking on the occasion, TamilisaiSoundararajan said that India created its own vaccine because of the scientists’ relentless efforts, which reflected the true spirit of self-reliant India as per the vision of AtmaNirbhar Bharat of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
We must salute our scientists and make them available for the production of vaccines. This is the greatest achievement by our scientific community and shows their capability,” she said. (INN)
