Hyderabad: Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao on Tuesday said that the state government would soon constitute the Backward Classes Commission. The state cabinet which would meet on September 26 would take a decision on the issue, the sources said.
The Chief Minister, who reviewed the functioning of BC Welfare Department, said that the state government was committed to the welfare of the backward classes who constitute more than half of the state population.
The CM said that a meeting of public representatives from the backward classes would be called soon to chalk out a plan of action as to how to spend the budget allocated to the BCs and other steps to be initiated for the welfare of the BCs.
He directed the officials to strengthen the BC study circles in every district by providing all the requisites. He also directed the officials to establish one residential school in each districts for the BCs. (INN)
