TS Govt proposes universal eye survey of entire population

Hyderabad: Health Minister Dr. K. Lakshma Reddy on Monday informed the State Legislative Assembly that the State Government proposed to conduct a comprehensive universal eye survey of the entire population of Telangana by organising eye camps in all villages.

Replying to a question raised by TRS MLAs Rasmai Balakishan, Putta Madhukar and Ajmeera Rekha during Question Hour, the minister said all persons requiring eye surgeries would be provided service through a network of government and private hospitals. Glasses will be distributed in the camp to all the need persons.

This is in addition to ongoing District Blindness Control Society and Rashtriya Bal Swasthya Karyakram efforts, he said. (INN)
