TSWB decides to take Anwar-ul-Uloom College into direct management

Hyderabad: The Telangana State Wakf Board on Wednesday decided to take Anwar-ul-Uloom College under its Direct Management.

The decision was taken during the Wakf Board’s meeting held today at Haj House under the chairmanship of its chairman Mohammed Saleem.

The Wakf Board has also constituted a committee which comprises of former Vice-Chancellor of Telangana University Akbar Ali Khan and Wakf Board members Tafseer Iqbal (IPS), Sufia Begum, Zakir Hussain Jaweed, Waheed Ahmed Advocate and Hyder Agha. Wakf Board CEO Abdul Mannan Farooqui will be convener of the committee.

The Board also dropped the proposal to call global tenders for development of 11 Wakf properties in the State. Instead, the Board itself will develop those properties by seeking special funds from Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao.

It was also decided that Wakf properties will not be given to businesses like wine shops, etc., and those already given will be taken back.

The term of present managing committee of Dargah Yousufain will end on July 23. Therefore, the Board has decided to first take the Dargah into direct management and then decide about next committee.

It also resolved to remove shops located in Dargah premises within 15 days. The Board has also constituted 14 Towliath Committees, 2 Registration Committees and 5 Committees to increase the rents of Wakf properties.

The case of Lanco Hills was also discussed during the meeting and it was decided that the Chief Minister would be asked to make Revenue Department withdraw case against the Wakf Board in the Supreme Court.

The next meeting of Wakf Board will be held on July 20 to discuss developmental activities. (INN)
