Hyderabad: For the Indian Chemical Society Awards, two senior faculty members from the School of Chemistry at the University of Hyderabad (UoH) were selected.
In recognition of their research achievements in Chemical Sciences, Prof. Anunay Samanta will receive the Acharya J.C. Ghosh Memorial Award and Prof. KD Sen will receive the Prof. Suresh C. Ameta Award for the year 2019.
At the 57th annual convention of Chemists of the Indian Chemistry Society at a later date, they will collect these awards and give the endowment lectures.
The Indian Chemical Society (ICS), India’s premier Scientific Society, was founded in 1924 as a national forum for the country’s community of chemists and members of related disciplines.
Sir Prafulla Chandra Ray, the doyen of Indian Chemists, was the first President of ICS. (INN)
