Hyderabad: The State Government on Wednesday celebrated the 87th birth anniversary of celebrations of former Union Minister G Venkatswamy (also known as Kaka) officially.
Deputy CMs Mahmood Ali and Kadiyam Srihari, ministers Nayani Narshimha Reddy and Harish Rao, MPs D Srinivas, Keshava Rao, former MP Vivek and others garlanded the status of the veteran leader from Telangana at his statue located at Sagar Park.
Speaking on the occasion, Kadiyam Srihari said the fact that the TRS government celebrated the birth anniversary of the veteran leaders shows KCR’s admiration for the Dalit leader. Mr Srihari said that Kaka strived for the upliftment of the deprived and the backward.
Dy CM Mahmood Ali also paid tributes to the veteran leader saying that Kaka had made relentless struggles for the statehood for Telangana.
Ministers Harish Rao, Nayani Narsimha and former MP Vivek also spoke on the occasion and remembered the contribution of the late leader for the development of Telangana region and for the upliftment of the Dalits. (INN)
