Hyderabad: An Australian delegation led by Victoria State Governor Linda Dessau AC called on IT and Industries Minister K T Rama Rao.
During the meeting, the minister explained about Telangana’s efforts to boost the innovation ecosystem in the state.
He informed Linda Dessau about various initiatives of the state government in the innovation space like T-Hub, WE-HUB, T-Works, Telangana State Innovation Cell (TSIC) and Research and Innovation Centre of Hyderabad (RICH).
The minister stated that Hyderabad, one of the fastest growing cities in India, is the major Healthcare and IT destination for global majors.
He added that several MNCs having their operations in Hyderabad are engaged in cutting edge research and development activities.
KTR proposed that the state of Victoria and Telangana could collaborate in sectors such as education, research and innovation.
He remarked that Telangana is also actively seeking smart city solutions like Smart Energy Management, Smart Water Supply and Smart Traffic Management.
He briefed to the delegation about the opportunities for Australian companies to invest in core sectors like IT, Healthcare, Aerospace, and Defence. The IT Minister added that the T-Bridge program, a T-Hub’s initiative intended for startup exchange, has been a huge success.
Victoria State Governor Linda Dessau said that she was impressed with the initiatives of the Government of Telangana and they are very happy to collaborate with the state.
The governor extended an invitation to Telangana IT minister to personally visit Victoria State to take the discussion forward.
