Hyderabad: TRS MLC and Chairman of Telangana State Wakf Board Mohammed Saleem has welcomed the sealing of his office by the government and demanded that a CB-CID probe should be conducted to punish those involved in irregularities.
Participating in the discussion on Welfare of Minorities in Legislative Council on Thursday, Saleem said that Wakf Board was not in shape for the last 50 years. He said several files, including those of prime properties, were missing from the Board’s office.
He thanked Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao for taking the historic decision of sealing off Wakf Board office to order a detailed probe into all the irregularities and bring reforms.
Saleem claimed that he was performing his duties with total honesty and the Chief Minister was aware of it. However, he said that the Wakf Board was not cooperating with him.
He blamed previous Congress and TDP regimes for the irregularities and alleged that some big shots involved in the Wakf scams were responsible for missing of files. (INN)
