Heavy security arrangements for Ganesh immersion procession tomorrow

Hyderabad: Elaborate arrangements are in place for Ganesh immersion procession on Tuesday.

Over 6,100 idols from Hyderabad, Cyberabad, Rachakonda, Medak, Nalgonda and Mahboob Nagar districts are expected to be immersed in Hussain Sagar on Tuesday in the final immersion procession which is likely to be participated by about 10-15 lakh people.

Besides Hussain Sagar, Ganesh idols will also be immersed in Rajanna Bowli, Miralam Tank, Errakunta, Shaikpet Tank, Saroornagar Tank, Safilguda / Malkajgiri Tank and Hashmathpet Tank.

As many as 16,108 police personnel have been deployed for security. They include 4 Additional CsP, 2 Jt CsP, 9 DCsP, 7 Additional DCsP, 57 ACsP, 247 CIs, 690 Sis, 627 ASIs, 1860 HCs, 5925 PCs, 680 SPOs and 6000 Home Guards.

Further, six units of Greyhounds and 3 Units of Octopus have been kept as Stand-to for any emergency. Forces of all the Units of Hyderabad City Police viz.,

Law and Order, Traffic, Special Branch, Task Force, City Security Wing, City Armed Reserve have been pressed into service in making security and bandobust arrangements. Emergency response teams are being stationed at strategic locations in the route

A total of 310 Hypersensitive and 605 Sensitive places have been identified for which pickets have been posted. Total 410 Mobile Parties are moving in the area for smooth conduct of the Ganesh Festival.

The City Security Wing of Hyderabad City Police is deploying 16 Bomb Disposal Teams, 2 Access Control Teams at important Ganesh Pandal and Ganesh Temples.

They are equipped with DFMDs, HFMDs, Prodder, Deep Search mine detector, under carriage mirror, explosive detector etc. The Anti-Sabotage Teams will be using the services of 22 Sniffer Dogs.

Anti-Sabotage measures like Vehicle checking and frisking at entry points to the City and at important junctions and checking at important crowded places viz., Railway Stations, Bus Stations, Shopping malls, Cinema Halls, Hotels, Restaurants etc., are being undertaken. (INN)
