Telangana has come under new Razakars’ regime: Uttam

Hyderabad: Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) president Capt. N. Uttam Kumar Reddy has expressed deep concern over rising attacks on Dalits, Tribals, BCs, Minorities and weaker sections under the TRS regime.

He was speaking after hosting national flag at Gandhi Bhavan on the occasion of Hyderabad Liberation Day on Sunday.

“Though India achieved independence on August 15, 1947, the erstwhile Hyderabad State was under the Nizam’s rule till 17 September 1948. He said Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, who was the Union Home Minister in cabinet of the then Prime Minister Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru,

took the initiative and ensured merger of Hyderabad with the Indian Union to put an end to the Razakars’ regime which had unleashed terror on common people to suppress their rights and voices,” Uttam Kumar Reddy said.

The TPCC chief said it was the Congress party which brought independence for country, merged Hyderabad with Indian Union and also granted statehood for Telangana.

He said Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao played politics demanding official celebration of Hyderabad Liberation Day before coming to power. However, he asked KCR to explain the fear behind not celebrating the occasion at official level.

Uttam Kumar Reddy alleged that Telangana is presently ruled by a new “Razakar” regime which is crushing the people’s voice with force. He said Tribal farmers of Khammam were implicated in false cases, jailed, chained and hand-cuffed for holding a protest against TRS Government.

Similarly, he said several Dalits were subjected to illegal confinement and third-degree torture when they raised their voice against TRS-backed sand mafia. And now, in Tadvai mandal of Bhupalpally district, the houses of Tribals were demolished and women farmers were tied to trees from their sarees by the police.

Describing these incidents as blot on entire civilised society, he said TRS Government has given a free hand to police to suppress people who their raises voice against it. He said some police officials were acting like activists of TRS party.

The TPCC Chief said there was a need to launch another struggle to free Telangana from the rule of ‘new Razakars’. He appealed to the people to unitedly fight against the dictatorial and arrogant regime of KCR.

Earlier, Uttam Kumar Reddy and other Congress leaders paid floral tributes to Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. He also participated in the Hyderabad Liberation Day celebrations held at Ashoka Pillar in Koti and paid tributes to the martyrs.

Ex-PCC President V. Hanumantha Rao, Rajya Sabha member R. Anand Bhaskar, ex-MP M. Anjan Kumar Reddy, ex-Minister Danam Nagender, TPCC Vice-President Mallu Ravi, General Secretaries Prem Kishan, G.
