Hyderabad: Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao on Tuesday reviewed the distribution of sarees among poor women on the occasion of Bathukamma festival.
According to sources, the Chief Minister spoke to some important leaders and top officials on the implementation of saree distribution programme which entered second day on Tuesday.
He reportedly enquired about the complaints of supply of poor quality sarees at some places which triggered protest.
The Chief Minister spoke to Khammam MLA Ajay Kumar over telephone and sought details on saree distribution programme.
The MLA briefed KCR that the programme was going on smoothly and thousands of women across the Khammam district took the sarees without any complaints.
The State Government proposes to distribute 1.04 crore sarees among poor women on Bathukamma festival. The distribution will continue on Wednesday. (INN)
