DGP warns Tribals against ties with Maoists

Hyderabad: Director General of Police M. Mahender Reddy has warned the Tribals against associating with the outlawed Maoists or any other affiliated organisations.

The DGP said stern action would be taken against those who try to get closer to the Maoists. He said the Maoists might try to take advantage of recent incidents of violence between Lambadas and Adivasis in Husnapur of Utnoor. Therefore, he said all Tribals need to be cautious and stay away from the outlawed groups.

Accompanied with senior police officials, the DGP visited Utnoor on Sunday and reviewed the situation. He warned that serious action would be taken against those who try to disturb Law & Order. He said those taking law into their hands would not be spared.

The DGP directed police officials to coordinate with Revenue Department and ITDA to maintain peace in Tribal areas. (INN)
