NABARD praises TS Govt for computerisation of PACS

Hyderabad: A team of officials headed by NABARD General Manager Nageswara Rao visited PACS in Karimnagar and RR districts to study the successful computerisation of PACS model adopted by Telangana State.

This pro-farmer initiative of Telangana is aimed at the inclusive growth of farmers through strengthening of the cooperatives at the grassroots level. The program has been in the final stages of completion and about 700 PACS out of the 798 PACS under DCC Banks have been successful computerized, an yet another first of its kind achievement by Telangana State.

Post field visits to Gattuddudinapally, Durshade PACS under Karimnagar DCC Bank and uppariguda PACS under Hyderabad DCC Bank, NABARD hailed the efforts and noted with satisfaction that the PACS have doubled their incomes by serving their members in a transparent and effective manner by computerisation process.

The team also opined that the pioneering and successful Telangana model of Computerisation of PACS is worthy of emulating across the country. The present NABARD study of the Telangana model will herald the computerisation of PACS program of Government of India.

The GM NABARD informed that the other states would be apprised of the Telangana success story and they will be advised to visit PACS in Telangana. Mr. Nageswara Rao also congratulated and highly appreciate the contribution of the GoTS, the Principal Secretary, RCS, the President TSCAB, the MD TSCAB and the staff of TSCAB for delivering a robust model for computerisation of PACS to the Country.

Agriculture Department Principal Secretary C. Parthasarathy thanked Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao and Agriculture Minister Pocharam Srinivas Reddy for the support and free hand given to their department for formulating and implementing farmer friendly program.

After taking review of the program from the CEOs of all 9 DCC Banks, RCS, NABARD RO and TSCAB officials on the progress of the computerisation program, Parthasarathy expressed confidence that the program on its completion shall make PACS as the rural multiservice offering hubs while also becoming the repository for various departments in the Government for the formulation of schemes.
