Harish Rao inspects works on Ranga Naik Reservoir

Hyderabad: Irrigation Minister T. Harish Rao has directed the officials to speed up the construction works of Ranga Naik Reservoir.

The minister inspected the works going on at Chandapur of Chinnakodur mandal of Medak district. He announced that the reservoir would get Godavari water by next year and it would irrigate surrounding areas.

He asked the officials to work in perfect tandem with the elected representatives and other departments to ensure speedy completion of works. He informed that nearly 2100 acres of land has been acquired for the reservoir.

Harish Rao advised the officials to begin the works on laying of pipelines and hasten the works of Approach Canal and Tunnel.

He said that the Ranga Naik Reservoir would irrigate about 10,000 acres of land in Siddipet district. He said that the reservoir was being constructed at a cost of Rs. 463 crore. (INN)
