SC/ST Commission reviews implementation of economic support

Hyderabad: Telangana SC/ST Commission Erolla Srinivas conducted a detailed review on Bank linkage Economic Support Schemes implemented by SC Corporation and Tribal Corporation with the VC & MD, SC Corporation and MD, TRICOR and the other connected officials at Parishrama Bhavan here on Saturday.

The Chairman at length reviewed on the status of implementation of the SC and the Tribal Action Plans from 2013-14 to 2016-17. The Chairman reviewed the status of subsidy amounts released, subsidy amounts utilized and the subsidy amounts pending with the Banks of the SC and the Tribal Action Plans.

Srinivas suggested that regular meetings should be conducted by the Corporations with State level controllers of the Banks so as to ensure 100% utilization of the subsidy amounts and to fix up responsibility to the Bankers in timely grounding of the units.

The chairman expressed his concern that in spite of huge subsidies provided by the Government, the Bankers are not positively responding in performing their mandated social responsibility, which is telling seriously on successful implementation of the schemes.

The Chairman finally requested both the MDs and the officials present in the meeting not to show any slackness in pulling up the non-committal bankers in achieving the desired results of this laudable schemes – through which a great number of SC/ST unemployed youth are provided entrepreneurship.
