Defeat TRS to end KCR’s dictatorship: Prithvi Raj Chowhan

Hyderabad: Congress senior leader and former Chief Minister of Maharashtra Prithvi Raj Chowhan appealed the people of Telangana to vote for Congress party in next Assembly elections to end the dictatorial rule of KCR family.

Addressing a press conference at Gandhi Bhavan on Sunday, Prithvi Raj Chowhand said that the Congress party granted statehood for Telangana to fulfill the people’s aspirations.

However, he said that the people only faced disappointment with the rule of Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao who did not fulfil a single major electoral promise.

Chowhan said KCR needs to reply whether he fulfilled the promise of making a Dalit CM and how many Dalits and Girijans were given double bed room houses or three acres of land.

He said TRS Government also failed to tackle the problem of rising unemployment in Telangana State. He said it was highly shameful that KCR did not induct a single woman in his cabinet as minister.

The Congress leader alleged that Telangana was under the rule of a single KCR family which is looting the State’s exchequer. He said irrigation projects were re-designed only to facilitate corruption and irregularities. He said Telangana State was now in huge debts of over Rs. 2.20 lakh crore.

Calling KCR the ‘new Nawab of Hyderabad’, Chowhan expressed confidence that the Congress party would come to power in next elections.

He said that the next Congress Government would do justice with farmers, youth, employees, women and other sections of the society.

Chowhan said as the then Chief Minister of Maharashtra he had held talks with the then Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Kiran Kumar Reddy. He said a consensus was arrived between the two States over effective utilisation of Godavari River water. (INN)
