Elaborate arrangements in place for ‘Numaish’ from Jan 1

Hyderabad: The Exhibition Society has made elaborate arrangements for the successful conduct of 79th All India Industrial Exhibition (Numaish) from January 1, 2019. Home Minister Mahmood Ali will inaugurate the exhibition on January 1.

Addressing a press conference at Exhibition Society office at Nampally on Saturday, Society President Eatala Rajender informed that there would be 2,500 stalls this year and nearly 25 lakh people are expected to visit the Exhibition from January 1 to February 15. Last year, nearly 20 lakh visitors had visited the Numaish.

Etala said that the Numaish has been growing in size and stature every year since its inception in 1938 while attracting visitors from Kashmir to Kanyakumari. He said Metro Rail has agreed to run special trains for Numaish from LB Nagar, Miyapur to Gandhi Bhavan and Nampally stations.

He said the HMRL has also agreed to operate the Metro Rail till 11.30 pm. Metro Train ticket counters will also be set up at the three gates of Exhibition.

He said special arrangements were being made to handle traffic and parking issues. Free parking lots are being provided to those coming in own vehicles.

Fool proof security is also being ensured by deploying required number of policemen, Metal Detectors, CC cameras and other necessary equipment. Yashoda Hospitals will also provide free medical facilities.

Etala said that the Exhibition Society has been running several institutions from the revenues it has been getting from Numaish. He said increase in revenues would help in providing quality education for poor students.

He appealed the shop keepers, visitors and the general public to cooperate with the authorities in conducting the Numaish in a highly successful manner for the 79th year in a row.
