Chief Secretary directs officials to prepare report on waste management

Hyderabad: Telangana Chief Secretary Somesh Kumar on Monday today directed the officials to prepare report on implementation of Solid Waste Management, Bio-Medical Waste Rules, Polluted River Stretches and District Environment plans in accordance with the directions of the National Green Tribunal by 31st January to be submitted to NGT.

The Chief Secretary reviewed the various issues which would come up at the NGT with officials at BRKR Bhavan today. Principal Secretaries Arvind Kumar (MA& UD) and Vikas Raj (Panchayat Raj), Animal Husbandry Secretary Sandeep Kumar Sultania, Pollution Control Board Member Secretary Neetu Prasad, TSIIC MD Venkata Narasimha Reddy and other officials attended the meeting.

The Chief Secretary directed the officials to incorporate the steps taken so far by the State Government and the progress achieved thus far in the report.

Arvind Kumar briefed about the steps being taken to implement Time Line Action Plan as per the NGT guidelines. Vikas Raj explained about the sanitation program and steps being taken for waste collection in Gram Panchayats. (INN)
