Village Innovation Challenge: TITA, TSIC to hold Hackathon on Feb 1

Hyderabad: The first of its kind Village Innovation Challenge being organised by Telangana Information Technology Association (TITA) and Telangana State Innovation Cell (TSIC) in 14 villages of Atmakur Mandal, Wanaparthy district will see the final leg – Hackathon on February 1 at 3.00 PM to February 2, 2020, till 5.00 PM at MV Raman High School, Atmakur.

The 24-hour hackathon is the final leg of the challenge, where the teams will be witnessing a phase of conceptualising the solution for the problem through the Design Thinking process. The hackathon will lead to the 14 teams presenting their solutions, which could range from idea-level to prototype level, which could further scaled-up.

Village Innovation Challenge, which was rolled out on 21st January, saw TITA and TSIC organising awareness camps in all the 14 villages mobilising the unemployed youth with regards to Innovation.

The aim of the challenge is to empower the rural youth by creating a sense of solving their village problem in the most innovative manner.

For the past 10 days, a team of four youngsters have been formed from one village and were nurtured through Grama Yatra that will traverse them through the resources available in the village, geographical and demographical information, further enabling them to identify the problem they wish to solve innovatively.

The teams have had interactions with their villagers and fellow youngsters to get a holistic perspective. (INN)
