Chief Secretary briefs Finance Commission member on GST

Hyderabad: Ajay Narayan Jha, Member, 15th Finance Commission visited Chief Secretary Somesh Kumar today at BRKR Bhavan.

As per his request a presentation was made on various measures taken by state such as Rationalization of circles, setting up of Economic Intelligence Units, Strategic tax Units, use of different modules, Apps, use of IT, Effective Utilization of Staff, which enabled effective implementation of GST in the State, which has led to better growth rate in GST.

The Chief Secretary briefed the initiatives taken from Pre-GST period till now and also informed about sending notices to the defaulters, SMS to pending GST-returns, automatic issue of 3A-notices and special focus on tax evasion.

Ajay Narayan Jha complimented the State initiatives for collecting GST. He noted various suggestions, advices received during the meeting and also discussed IGST data-sharing, Central and State coordination, Incentives to best performing States etc.

G.R.Reddy, Advisor to Govt., K. Ramakrishna Rao, Principal Secretary to Govt. (Finance), Neetu Prasad, Commissioner, Commercial Taxes, Ronald Ross, Secretary to Finance and other officials attended the meeting. (INN)
