Hyderabad: Finance Minister Harish Rao has assured that the farmers who cultivated paddy should not worry and the government will support them all. The Minister made it clear that we will buy wet rice at the minimum support price.
Minister Harish Rao inspected the paddy procurement centre set up at Siddipet Cotton Yard on Wednesday.
On this occasion, he cleared the doubts of the farmers. As per the promise given by Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao, he made it clear that he will definitely buy the soaked grain. Farmers need not worry about this, he said. Compensation to farmers for crop loss will be provided at the rate of Rs 10,000 per acre.Due to heavy rains in the months of April and May, the crops were damaged and the farmers suffered severe losses. With this, steps will be taken to complete paddy cultivation in the month of March. For this, Agriculture Department will conduct awareness programs for the farmers. Harish Rao reiterated that KCR will always stand by the farmers. He said that the authorities have given orders to buy wet rice grain at the minimum support price. (INN)
