RTC MD rides with women passengers, announces plans for improved service

Hyderabad: RTC Managing Director VC Sajjanar confirmed a surge in female ridership in the TSRTC buses following the implementation of the free travel programme for women. He revealed this during a surprise visit to the Jubilee Bus Station, where he interacted with female passengers and issued them zero-fare tickets.

Sajjanar’s visit aimed to gain firsthand experience of women’s travel experiences and their feedback on the new scheme. He reported receiving positive responses from women, who expressed their appreciation for the initiative.

To ensure a smooth and comfortable travel experience for women, Sajjanar urged cooperation during peak hours. He said dedicated phone numbers –  040-69440000 and 040-23450033 are available for reporting any issues or concerns. He said all 40,000 RTC employees have been trained on the scheme’s guidelines.He said women travelling in metro buses (excluding Palle Velugu, Express City and Ordinary buses) need to present their Aadhaar cards for verification. He assured that the RTC has implemented all necessary measures to ensure a hassle-free travel experience for female passengers.
