HMRL MD asks young researchers to develop implementable solutions

Hyderabad: Hyderabad Metro Rail Ltd (HMRL) Managing Director NVS Reddy urged young research scholars to think innovatively, cultivate problem-solving skills, and develop implementable solutions.

He was addressing the Indian Institute of Chemical Technology’s (IICT) annual science and cultural festival – SAMYUKTH-2024 as the Chief Guest on Thursday

NVS Reddy emphasized the pivotal role of ideas in generating wealth, particularly in the era of Industry 4.0. He underscored the significance of a nation’s progress being contingent upon advancements in science and technology, encouraging young scientists to pursue innovative ideas that can be transformed into products beneficial to society.

Acknowledging the inevitability of initial setbacks and failures in the pursuit of goals, NSV Reddy stressed the importance of persistence and hard work for achieving success. Drawing from his experiences with the Hyderabad Metro project, he elucidated the challenges encountered during its execution, including resistance, agitations, legal battles, and logistical complexities. Despite initial scepticism, the project’s success has been recognized globally, with Stanford University featuring it as a case study for management practitioners and students.

NSV Reddy urged budding scientists to embrace innovation, cultivate self-confidence, and confront challenges with courage. He encouraged them to nurture a passion for knowledge and strive for perfection and excellence in their respective fields to emerge as future leaders driving the nation’s progress.

The inaugural function also saw the participation of notable figures, including Dr. D. Srinivasa Reddy, Director of IICT, Prof. Ajay Dhar, Associate Director of AcSIR, and Dr. Bhanu Manjunath, Director of Syngenta Bio Sciences Pvt. Ltd. (INN)
