Harish Rao reviews rain situation

Hyderabad: Irrigation minister Harish Rao on Tuesday chaired a review meeting with the officials of his department to monitor the rain situation in the state.

He directed the officials to take up relief measures to the flood affected areas and rehabilitate the people in low lying areas.

The Nizamsagar project in Nizamabad has received flood waters to the brim. The project that has a capacity of 17.8tmc of water received 16.43 tmc of water till Tuesday afternoon, officials said. The flood waters reached 1,404 feet while the capacity is 1,405 feet.

The inflow at the project is 1,02,746 cusec while the outflow 1,02,746 cusecs, the officials informed.

Meanwhile, in Khammam, Godavari river is running in spate and the flood water have reached 38 feet at Bhadrachalam. The incessant rains have damaged the standing crop in Vajedu, Charla, Dummugudem mandals, the sources informed. (INN)
