MANUU organizes ‘Run for Unity’

Hyderabad: Maulana Azad National Urdu University began celebrating the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhai Patel, the first Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister of India, by organizing a ‘Run for Unity’ at the campus today.

University Registrar Dr. Shakeel Ahmed flagged off the Run from the health center. Students, teachers and employees of the University participated in the Run.

It should be noted that MANUU is organizing the birth anniversary of Sardar Patel as ‘Rashtriya Ekta Saptah’ (National Unity Week), from October 31 to November 6.

Sardar Patel is known as the Iron Man of India because of his role in the freedom struggle and consolidating Independent India.

“We must follow him because of his great sacrifices and the contributions he made for his country”, Dr. Shakeel Ahmed said.

NSS Coordinator, Dr. Mohammad Fariyad said that the principles followed by Sardar Patel are more relevant in the country today than ever before.

“Sardar Patel always spoke about National unity and Integrity. It is our turn now to put his ideals into practice’’, he said. (INN)
