Free ambulance services to shift dead bodies

Hyderabad: Deputy Chief Minister Mohammed Mahmood Ali on Friday said that the state government was committed to provide better medical facilities across the state.

Speaking at a programme to launch the free ambulance services meant to shift dead bodies to the place of deceased’s kin,

the minister said that the TRS government is giving priority to the health and education sectors in the state and is accordingly increasing the budget for these sectors every year.

He said that the government was also concentrating on increasing institutional deliveries in the government hospitals in the state.

Minister for Health and Medical Education Dr. Laxma Reddy said that the government has in the first phase launched 50 ambulances to shift dead bodies.

Of these, 10 will be stationed at Gandhi Hospital, 10 at Osmania Hospital, 3 at NIMS while a vehicle will be provided for every district hospital across the state.

The minister said that the ambulances were designed with state of the art facilities and added that the number of services would be increased if required in the future.

The minister said that it was the responsibility of the hospital authorities to ensure proper use of these ambulance services and ensure that the poor are benefitted with the government’s initiative.
