‘Cashless’ donations at major temples

Hyderabad: Minister for Endowment Minister A Indra Karan Reddy on Monday said that the state government would encourage cashless transactions in the endowments departments.

The minister said that the state government would install swiping machines at major temples so that the pilgrims can make donations through the swiping machines.

In the past weeks there has been steeps fall in donations to temples across the state in the wake of demonetization of high value currency notes and hence the government has decided to set up swiping machines at major temples to encourage pilgrims go for online donations.

The minister said that the government will also make encourage pilgrims to make online transactions while buying darshan tickets and prasadam and to perform other rituals. (INN)
