Lorry hits CPM delegation on padayatra, 3 injured

Adilabad: CPI (M) State Secretary Tammineni Veerabhadram on Tuesday demanded the state government to provide security to the party delegation which is on a 4,000 km long Mahajana Padayatra.

Speaking to media persons, Veerabhadram said that a speeding lorry has hit three CPM workers on the padayatra resulting in serious injuries to them.

He said that the accident occurred at Gandhinagar on Adilabad Main Road soon after the party leaders set out on the padayatra from Ichoda town.

He said that the condition of three injured party workers was serious and are being treated at the RIMS in Adilabad.

Slamming the government for withdrawing his personal security just before the commencement of padayatra, Veerabhadram said that the government failed to provide security to party’s padayatra and was doing this deliberately. He said that the government did not respond to his pleas to provide security to party delegation which is on the padayatra. (INN)
