Drinking water to every household by 2017 end: Etala

Karimnagar: Finance Minister Etala Rajender on Saturday said that the state government would supply piped drinking water to every household in the state by the end of 2017.

Speaking to reporters at the R&B Guest House in Karimngar, Etala said that the Mission Bhagiratha works were going on at a brisk pace and added that the government would ensure that the works are completed on time.

The minister said that the state government has allocated Rs 100 crore for the road works in the city and added that in the coming budget an additional of Rs 100 crore would be allocated for the purpose.

He said that the Maneru River front would be developed at a cost of Rs 500 crore, of which Rs 190 crore have already been released. He assured that the city would get a facelift with numerous development works coming up in the coming days.

Etala said that the 750-bed hospital in the city would be ready by next year and this would help in providing better medical faculties to the poor.

The minister assured that the government was taking up various initiatives to strengthen health and education sector in the state.

The minister said that the reorganization of districts has resulted in speedy delivery of services and better administration in the state. (INN)
