Hyderabad: TD MLA and BC Welfare Organisation president R Krishnaiah on Saturday demanded the state government to enhance the reservation for backward classes along with the minorities.

Speaking to media persons here, Krishnaiah said that they were not against the government’s proposal to hike quota for minorities but demanded the government to provide quota to the minorities without affecting the quota for BCs.

He said that the government should also provide reservation to BCs in education, employment and politics according to their population share.

He said that he had made BCs Welfare Minister Jogu Ramanna and submitted a memorandum in this regard.

The TRS government is planning to introduce a bill on increasing the quota for minorities in this Session. The government should also increase quota for BCs to 52%, he said. (INN)
