Hyderabad: Finance Minister Etala Rajender will present the annual budget of Telangana State for the financial year 2017-18 in the State Legislative Assembly at 11.30 AM on Monday.
The Finance Minister held detailed discussions on the budget with the top officials till late evening on Saturday. The budget of nearly Rs. 1.41 lakh crore was then presented before the State Cabinet for formal approval on Sunday evening, according to sources.
The government has reportedly made huge allocations on welfare schemes. Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao, during his reply to the debate on Motion of Thanks on Governor’s Address, has indicated on giving more funds Most Backward Classes (MBC).
Sectors including Irrigation, Energy, Panchayat Raj and Rural Administration and Municipal Administration are likely to get more funds in 2017-18 budget. (INN)
