GHMC conducts raids on restaurants, imposes heavy fines

Hyderabad: The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) officials on Monday inspected and raided various hotels and restaurants and imposing heavy fines for unhygienic conditions and using unstamped goat meat.

Earlier the GHMC had appealed all the hoteliers, restaurants etc., to maintain hygienic conditions and also to use only stamped goat meat. Based on the information and complaints received, the GHMC officials swung into action and raided and closed some of the hotels and restaurants today.

The GHMC officials seized Sagar Restaurant at Shapurnagar while Sohail Hotel at Nalgonda X Roads was fined Rs. 40,000/- for using unstamped meat. Similarly, fines of Rs. 10,000-20,000 were imposed on the Astoria Hotel at RTC X Roads, Paradise Hotel at IS Sadan, Minerva Grand at S.D. Road, Al Shaba Hotel at Gachibowli and Drunk Yard Shivani Restaurant and Bar at Gachibowli for using unstamped meat and unhygienic conditions. (INN)
