TS Assembly Speaker to Attend UN Anti-Corruption Workshop in US

Telangana assembly speaker Madhusudhana Chary has been invited to Anti-Corruption workshop at the United Nations headquarters in New York. The workshop is scheduled from January 20 to 21, 2016.

“Mr. Chary has confirmed for the workshop”, Telangana’s first International Ambassador for Peace Mohd. Najeed told Hyderabad Youth Mirror over phone.

Amb. Najeeb, who is among six high-profile public figures invited for the workshop, said the program is being organized in commemoration of International Anti-Corruption Day observed by the UN.

International Anti-Corruption Day is observed on December 9, since the passage of the United Nations Convention Against Corruption on October 31, 2013.

In the words of UN Secretary-General, Ban Ki-moon, “To dismantle corruption’s high walls, I urge every nation to ratify and implement the Convention. Its ground breaking measures in the areas of prevention, criminalization, international cooperation and asset recovery have made important inroads, but there is much more to do.”

In addition, Arshia Jabeen, Joint Secretary of Greater Hyderabad Anti-Corruption Committee, TS, Aamir Khan, Vice President of Greater Hyderabad Anti-Corruption Committee, TS, and Syeda Rayees Ali, Executive Member, Anti-Corruption Committee, TS are among delegates invited for the workshop.
