Hyderabad: The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) will organise grand celebrations of World Malaria Day on Tuesday.
The corporation has planned rallies and sensitization meetings with SHG Groups, RWAs and educational institutions to spread the message of Friday is Dry Day (to empty & clean all the water storage containers like drums, sumps, tins, pots, coolers, tanks, flower pots & refrigerators) mosquito breeding sources their elimination and mosquito life cycle.
According to GHMC Commissioner Dr. B. Janardhan Reddy, the corporation is taking all precautions for effective surveillance and control of mosquito breeding and spread of malaria and other vector borne diseases like Anti Larval Operations, Anti Adult Measures and IEC Activities.
In addition to regular Anti Larval and Fogging activities, larval and adult hot spots will be identified for putting more efforts and special focus, the Commissioner said. (INN)
