Focus on system improvements to achieve targets: SCR GM

Hyderabad: South Central Railway General Manager Vinod Kumar Yadav undertook a division wise review of Freight loading, Passenger earnings, Elimination of Level Crossing Gates, Action plan for completion of limited height subways works, progress of targeted Passenger Amenity works including Divyang facility related works and Swachh Bharath-Cleanliness etc on the Zone.

Additional General Manager A.K.Gupta, Principal Heads of the Departments of the zone along with the 6 Divisional Railway Managers(DRMs) Amit Vardan (Secunderabad), Arun Jain (Hyderabad), R. Dhananjayulu (Vijayawada), Vijay Sharma (Guntur), Amitabh Ojha (Guntakal) and A.K. Sinha (Nanded) attended the review meeting held at Rail Nilayam on Tuesday.

Vinod Kumar Yadav advised all the DRMs to be proactive and focus on system improvements and innovations to achieve the target fixed for the current financial year. Priority should be accorded to safety related issues like elimination of Level Crossings across the zone as per the target fixed.

He instructed all the DRMs to review the imposition of temporary speed restrictions and reduce them to the extent possible, so that the mobility of the trains will be improved.

General Manager also expressed concern over Loco failures and Signal failures. He instructed the officials to monitor the loco failures with top most priority and bring the signal failures to Zero.

The General Manager indicated the officials to draw a perfect plan to improve the Freight loading from the first month of this financial year itself, so as to reach the month wise targets and focus should be given on Cement, Steel and on other commodities like food grains loading etc.

Further he instructed all the DRMs to focus on Passenger amenities and complete all the sanctioned works related to passenger amenities before targeted dates. As a part of infrastructure development works, construction of staff quarters should be given priority.

Discussing on Green initiatives, he told all the officials to identify open wells and water bodies for revival plan all over the zone.

Vinod Kumar Yadav also emphasized on provision of LED lighting for all the stations and establishments to achieve 100% LED zone status by the end of this financial year which is both economic and environment friendly.

He stressed upon the need to promote the DiGiPay mode of payments all over the zone for the convenience of the passengers. (INN)
