TDP leaders meet Guv over Miyapur land scam

Hyderabad: A delegation of Telangana TDP leaders called on Governor E.S.L. Narasimhan at Raj Bhavan on Tuesday seeking CBI probe into the multi-crore Miyapur land scam.

Led by State unit president L. Ramana, the TDP leaders submitted a memorandum to the Governor alleging that many big personalities in the Miyapur land scam and therefore, the State Government should be directed to order a CBI probe.

Speaking to media persons later, Telangana TDP Working President A. Revanth Reddy said that the TRS Government has failed to protect government land. He said some top officials of Chief Minister’s Office too were allegedly in the land scam. He said as per the Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation Act it was the responsibility of the Governor to protect the government lands.

Revanth Reddy alleged that some top political leaders and other personalities took advantage of ‘anywhere registration’ scheme and purchased government lands.

He said in Miyapur alone, properties worth over Rs. 15,000 crore were registered. He said the Stamp Duty of thousands of crores was not paid. He said that the land scam was much bigger than it appears. Therefore, he said it was essential to assign the probe to CBI to book all the culprits. (INN)
