KCR is focussed more on rural development: Harish Rao

Hyderabad: Irrigation Minister T. Harish Rao on Wednesday claimed that unlike other Chief Ministers in the country who are concentrating on cities, Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao was paying more attention on development of rural areas in the State.

Speaking in the sheep distribution programme in Narsampet of Warangal Rural district, Harish Rao said it was due to KCR’s efforts that the rural economy was witnessing a boom along with urban areas. He said in order to strengthen rural economy,

it was essential to support handicrafts and profession-based castes along with agriculture. As part of this plan, the State Government decided to distribute sheep among 718,000 members of Yadav community. He said another Rs. 9,000 for breeding of each sheep in the next two years.

Harish Rao said that the State Government was taking several measures to increase the income levels of all sections of the society.

Deputy CM Kadiyam Srihari, Tourism Minister Azmeera Chandulal, MP Seetharam Naik and other leaders also participated in the programme. (INN)
