Hyderabad: Animal Husbandry Minister Talasani Srinivas Yadav on Friday informed that the Telangana Government has released funds for the establishment of 40 Fish Markets across the State.
Addressing a video-conference with senior officials, Talasani informed that a two-year plan for the development of fisheries department has been finalised with a fund of Rs. 1,000 crore under NCDP Programme.
He said fish seeds would be released in different lakes and tanks across Telangana State by July end to boost fish production. He said tenders have been called for fish seeds. He said increase in fish production would generate huge revenues for fishermen.
Talasani also stressed on hastening distribution of sheep among Yadavas and other cattle breeders. He directed the District Collectors to arrange transportation and other facilities besides providing fodder for the sheep. (INN)
