Kishan Reddy demands CBI probe into illegal slaughter houses

Hyderabad: BJP floor leader in Telangana Legislative Assembly G. Kishan Reddy demanded that the State Government order CBI probe into the illegal slaughter houses functioning on the outskirts of Hyderabad.

Addressing a press conference here on Wednesday, Kishan Reddy alleged that more than 50 illegal slaughter houses were functioning in the city and its outskirts.

However, he said that the State Government was not taking any action against them. He said only three slaughter houses, including the Chengicherla slaughter house, were legal. He also asked government to implement ban on slaughtering of cow, calf and bull.

Kishan Reddy said more than 10,000 large cattle were being slaughtered every day in three legal slaughter houses. He said the number is huge in illegal slaughter houses.

He said there 56.74 lakh large cattle in the State as per 2013 Census. However, due to massive slaughtering, their population was getting reduced by nearly 10% every year. He said this would have a bag impact on the agriculture sector. (INN)
