SA NRIs vow to support the DIGITHON program in Telangana

Hyderabad: A delegation of Telangana Information Technology Association (TITA) South Africa Chapter on Monday met Telangana IT and Industries Department Principal Secretary Jayesh Ranjan in Johannesburg, South Africa and discussed various developmental aspects in the state.

Jayesh Ranjan appreciated the efforts and activities of TITA to educate people in the state with reference to technology and digital updates.

He asked the delegates to continue their support to the cause of digital literacy through Digithon, a signature program of the TITA.

Jayesh Ranjan enquired with the delegation regarding latest technology updates in South Africa and their commitments for the state in the future. Referring to TITA, he said that it was appreciating to have members and associates across the globe for the same cause.

Members of Telangana Association of South Africa (TASA) were also with the delegation.

TASA members led by Velthapu Bhumaiah exhorted that they would continue their support to the cause of digital literacy by TITA. Bhumaiah said that it was the digital generation and people must be educated in this aspect to live up to the requirements of this world.

He further said that initiatives of TITA were appreciable and more and more people should join the digital movement took up by the association.

It is important to note that as many as 46 villages have been adopted by NRIs and more Indians living abroad are coming forward to support the cause of digital literacy in Telangana.

The Digithon – digital literacy program has been conducted in various villages across the state very successfully.

The delegation included KJ Srinivas Consulate General of India in South Africa, V Bhumaiah President TASA, Y Venkat Reddy TASA general secretary TITA members Kishore Pollurii, Harish Ranga, Seetarama Raju Rapolu, Laxman V Reddy and others. (INN)
