TS Govt sanctions Rs. 45 Cr for oustsees of Mid Maniar project

Hyderabad: The Telangana Government has sanctioned Rs. 45 crore for farmers who would be affected due to construction of Mid Maniar project.

Irrigation Minister T. Harish Rao on Friday held a meeting to review the compensation paid to the oustsees of the project. He directed the officials to pay a compensation of Rs. 2 lakh on immediate basis to the families who had left their homes.

He said all basic amenities should be provided in the Resettlement & Rehabilitation colonies. He said the rehabilitation works should be completed on war footing basis.

Harish Rao said that the Mid Maniar project has a capacity of 10 TMC and it could irrigate about 80,000 acres of land.

He said people have not vacated their homes and they could get inundated if the water reaches 10 TMC level. Therefore, he directed the officials to speed up the evacuation process. (INN)
