BJP leaders to meet Sircilla ‘victims’ tomorrow

Hyderabad: A delegation of BJP leaders would visit Nerella village of Rajanna-Sircilla district on Thursday to meet Dalits and others who were allegedly tortured by the district police.

According to BJP sources, the delegation would be led by BJP National General Secretary P. Muralidhar Rao and it would meet the affected persons at Vemulawada.

It may be mentioned that police have booked cases against 12 persons in connection with burning of lorries belonging to sand miners. Of them, eight persons had accused the police of third degree torture in illegal custody for five days.

The alleged victims of police torture were lodged in Karimnagar District Jail after they were produced before a court on July 8. They were released on bail on Wednesday.

Muralidhar Rao will meet them at Vemulawada at 9 AM and would proceed to Jagitial to attended BJP Executive Committee meeting. (INN)
