Army Public School Creates Awareness on Nuclear Power Energy

Hyderabad’s Army Public School in Bolarum organized an essay writing competition to create awareness among students about nuclear power energy.

The essay writing competition, conducted recently for children, was as part of a nation-wide campaign to generate awareness about importance of energy and to dispel the misconceptions related to nuclear energy.

Organized on behalf of Nuclear Power Corporation of India (NPCI), the competition saw participation of 153 students. The topic of the essay was ‘Nuclear Power Energy’.

Abhishek Kumar, an eight standard student, won the first prize. Another student from the same class, Beauty Singh, won second prize. The prizes were given by Army Public School principal Mrs. Smita Govind.

Commenting about students’ work, she said that expressions of children are an indication of their creativity, and they portrayed the importance of energy in a very creative manner.

On this occasion, the competition judge Mr. Vineet K. Sahu appreciated the work of the participating children and said this would increase awareness about science and energy.

In addition, the school distributed informative material that aims at creating awareness about nuclear energy among the winning children, students and teachers.
