Health Dept put on alert for next 24 hours

Hyderabad: In view of Met Department’s warming for heavy rainfall during the next 24 hours, Health Minister Dr. Lakshma Reddy has directed the entire staff in his department to stay on high alert.

Addressing a high-level review meeting at the Secretariat on Tuesday, the Health Minister directed the officials to prevent stagnation of rain water which could lead to outbreak of several diseases.

He said that the Health Department should be on alert to deal with possible spread of seasonal diseases in view of ongoing rainfall.

During the meeting, which was also attended by Special Chief Secretary Rajeshwar Tiwari and other officials, the minister also reviewed the distribution of KCR Kits, recruitments on various posts, salaries for Asha workers, facilities in LB Nagar Hospital and Bibi Nagar NIMS and the implementation of health insurance scheme for employees and journalists.
