Hyderabad: Animal Husbandry Minister Talasani Srinivas Yadav has directed the officials to expedite the distribution of fish seeds in Telangana State.
Addressing the review meeting on second phase of fish seeds distribution programme at Secretariat on Monday, Talasani said that the State Government had decided to release 68.32 crore fish seeds in 24,831 lakes and tanks across Telangana State in the year 2017-18.
However, he said so far, only 29.52 crore fish seeds have been released in 6,537 lakes. He said presently 11,605 tanks or lakes have good water levels and another 44.17 crore fish seeds could be released into them. He directed the officials to achieve the target by the end of November.
Talasani said except Adilabad, Nalgonda, Nizamabad, Wanaparthi, Kamareddy, Asifabad and Nirmal districts, more than 50% target has been achieved in other districts. (INN)
