Congress wants House Committee to probe land scams

Hyderabad: Congress Deputy Leader in Assembly Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka demanded that the State Government constitute a House Committee or order an enquiry by Sitting Judge to probe the land grabbing by slained gangster Nayeem,

grabbing of 815 acres of Miyapur land by the influential individuals and government itself taking over assigned lands in the name of development and projects.

Participating in the shirt discussion on “Purification and Updation of Land Records” in Assembly on Monday, the Congress MLA said that there was nothing new in the survey of land holdings in the State. He said it was a continuous process which every government does every year.

However, he said the TRS Government remained silent for three years after coming to power and now doing survey in the name of Total Survey on land holdings.

Intervening on the issue, the Chief Minister said that the government has never acquired the assigned lands he asked the members not to misguide the House by making false allegations.

Bhatti alleged that the government issued G.O. 58 and 59 and sought the details of land holdings and details of construction. As per GO 58, the government had promised to regularise the land for those holding 120 sq yards.

However, he alleged that the officials demanded 10% of land value from those who constructed two or three floors on those small chunks of land. He said in Asifnagar slums, houses of poor people were demolished.

He said, that the government has prepared the list A and List B, as per list A, those who are in 120 sq. yards and having no litigations, they have been put in List A, on whose land if there is any dispute, it has been put in List B, from them the government is collecting money.

The Chief Minister again intervened and said that without any proof, one should not make allegation, then the Congress leaders said, that the people are coming to them and giving the complaint, that is why he is raising the issues. Similarly, he said there was grabbing of Wakf Land, Temple lands and even the Bhoodhan land.

He said the problem could not be solved by just conducting the survey. He said government should be sincere to acquire the land from the land grabbers. (INN)
