3558 Telangana pilgrims selected for Haj 2018

Hyderabad: Draw of Lots (Qurrah) for selection of 3558 Haj pilgrims from Telangana State for the Haj 2018 took place at Haj House in Nampally here on Thursday.

The computerized Qurrah was done by the Haj Committee of India, Mumbai and was displayed at Haj House. Deputy Chief Minister Mohammed Mahmood Ali inaugurated the Qurrah (Draw of Lots) in the presence of a large number of Haj applicants. He congratulated the selected pilgrims and assured to get more Haj quota for the State.

Advisor to TS Government (Minorities Welfare) A.K. Khan advised the pilgrims to take care of their health for smooth performance of Haj.

Wakf Board Chairman Mohammed Saleem and Nampally MLA Jaffer Hussain Meraj also addressed the gathering. TRS MLC Mohammed Farooq Hussain, Minorities Commission chairman Mohammed Qamruddin, Corporator Mamta Gupta and senior officials were also present on this occasion.

Telangana State Haj Committee Special Officer Prof. S. A. Shukoor informed that the Haj Committee of India has allotted a quota of 4066 seats for Haj 2018, out of which 508 pilgrims have been selected under the reserve category of 70+ years. Qurrah was held for remaining 3558 seats. (INN)
