Governor visits Panjagutta PS, praises cops

Hyderabad: Governor E.S.L. Narasimhan on Thursday visited the Panjagutta Police Station which has won the award of second best police station in the country in the recently held DGPs conference.

Speaking to media persons after the visit, the Governor praised the functioning of the police station and appreciated the work being done by all police personnel.

He said the entire staff of Panjagutta Police Station is working in a responsible manner. He said the technology has been put to best use and the police station is functioning in a totally transparent manner. He said he had checked all the rooms and interacted with all the personnel deployed in the station. “This is a transparent, clean and green and proud police station,” he said.

The Governor said Panjagutta Police Station was the best example of team work wherein collective efforts have resulted in decrease of crimes and also traffic problems.

He also appealed to the people to cooperate with the police and stay friendly with them. Instead of looking only at mistakes, people should also understand the difficult circumstances under which policemen perform their duties on 24×7 basis without even celebrating festivals.

He appreciated DGP Mahender Reddy, Hyderabad Police Commissioner V.V. Srinivas Rao and other officials for the good work.

Narasimhan hoped that next year all three awards would come to the police stations of Telangana State. “I feel proud that I visited this police station,” the Governor said. (INN)
