Officials asked to prioritise works on Warangal Smart City

Hyderabad: Municipal Administration & Urban Development Principal Secretary Arvind Kumar asked the officials to prepare a list of works which could be immediately grounded and completed at the earliest as part of Warangal Smart City project.

Kumar took stock of the progress of the works taken up by the Warangal Smart City Corporation at the Secretariat on Thursday. He asked the officials to identify different stretches of roads in the city where footfalls are high and develop them to have a visible impact to the public at large.

He said that works should be taken up in places of public importance. He asked the officials to ensure that road works should be completed before the onset of monsoon so as to avoid inconvenience to the public. He told the officials to take up construction of mini sewage treatment plants in as many places as possible.

He also asked the officials to make a list of all government buildings for installing solar roof top PVs. Construction of rain water harvesting structures should also be prioritsed, he added.

Warangal Urban Collector Amarapali explained that development of parks, lake bunds, markets, grave yards, model roads, pedestrianisation, traffic islands, medians and junctions are being taken up under the Rs 300 crore Chief Ministers assurance programme.

The Project Management consultants made a power point presentation and briefed the principal secretary about the status of the various works undertaken by the Greater Warangal smart city corporation

Director Municipal Administration T K Sridevi, Mayor Narender Rao, Commissioner Shruti Ojha and other officials were present in the meeting. (INN)
